Hello, I am Frank Adler G. Ong. Welcome to a record of an ordinary person learning to navigate life, service, and the demanding first steps of medical school.

I do not claim an extraordinary story. What matters to me is continuing to learn and using what I know to help the people around me.

From biology to medicine

My academic path began at Far Eastern University Manila, where I first pursued Medical Technology before completing a degree in Medical Biology. I am now a first-year medical student at MCU College of Medicine.

WHY

Service over certificates

Titles and certificates matter less to me than the lives I can positively affect. My goal is simple but ambitious: to help hundreds, perhaps millions, of people throughout my life.

03 / REFLECTION

Learning through
challenge and connection.

I may not remember every date from Biochemistry, but I remember how the subject made me feel: challenged most of the time, yet genuinely glad to be there. I entered the class hesitant. Over time, “We will make Biochemistry fun for you” stopped sounding like a promise and started feeling true.

The enjoyment did not come from the subject becoming easy. It came from discovering ideas I had never encountered, working through concepts that tested my patience, and learning beside people who gradually became friends. We taught one another in ways I had not expected, turning confusion into conversations and difficult lessons into shared progress.

Biochemistry has been bittersweet. Every quiz or examination carries the possibility of failure, but each one also shows me what I still need to understand. My journey is only beginning. I hope to remain present, keep learning, and appreciate every part of the time I have in this class.

Composure when
it matters most.

Outside the classroom, I have trained in emergency response, ambulance operations, firefighting, and incident command. Firefighting first captured my interest. Each discipline taught me to assess clearly, communicate, and serve when people need help most.
